Welcome to Year 5

'Life in all Fullness' - John 10:10

Y5 is being taught by Mrs Heasman. Before Mrs Heasman became a teacher she used to be a journalist and loves literature, drama and supports the childen with leading the school newspaper. Outside of teaching Mrs Heasman enjoys spending time with her family. Mrs Heasman works very closely with Mr Proud in Y6. Mrs Heasman enjoys working with the older children in KS2 and delivering an engaging Y5 curriculum. Further information regarding topics can be found below.

Y5 is an exciting year with some intriguing topics. During Y5, pupils continue to access fortnightly blocks of swimming in addition to specialist PE, French and Music lessons. Year Five pupils also undertake Playground Leader Training and have the opportunity to lead playground games during lunch times and develop their leadership skills. As 'Upper Key Stage Two' pupils the children in Y5 are given more leadership opportunities across the school and support the staff with a number of tasks.
